Faleria wicker firewood basket with handle for fireplace TheWickerStories

The striking dark-brown wicker basket delights with the natural pattern of woven, unpeeled willow rods. The roomy construction with a dense, open weave creates durable walls and a stiff rim that holds the load well. A centrally positioned, sturdy handle, additionally wrapped with willow, provides a secure grip and comfortable carrying even under heavier loads. Edges are carefully smoothed and rod ends are secured so they won't catch fabrics. Subtle fiber discolorations emphasize the authentic handmade character and make each piece subtly unique.

The basket is made from unpeeled European willow, a renewable, biodegradable material that is safe for the home. Thick rods retain the natural bark, producing a noble dark color and increased resistance to daily use. Willow harvested from responsibly managed plantations is cut and seasoned to improve flexibility and lifespan. Hand weaving guarantees refined details, even bindings and durability that mass production cannot match. It's handcrafted in the EU – you choose an eco-friendly product and support local artisans.

As a firewood basket for the fireplace it performs excellently: the capacious interior holds a substantial amount of logs, while the stable walls and reinforced rim prevent small pieces from falling out. The open weave allows free airflow so fuel does not retain moisture and dries faster. The firm, strong handle makes transporting wood from outside to inside easy, and a comfortable hand position reduces fatigue when carrying. It’s easy to keep the hearth area tidy since the basket can be placed right beside the fire and logs are within easy reach.

Apart from the fireplace, it will be practical throughout the home and garden: it serves as a storage basket for blankets, cushions or toys, and also as a garden basket for harvests, cones or leaves. The natural aesthetic fits rustic, Scandinavian and modern interiors, bringing warmth and order. Care is simple – clean with clear water, a little mild detergent and a soft brush, rinse and then dry thoroughly in a ventilated place. Small color variations are acceptable and typical for natural material. Approximate dimensions: approx. 62 x 46 cm; height 25/26/38 cm.
