FSPD140 Level 2 Whole House Surge Protection Device - 140,000A Rated for EV Charging, Storm Zones, and Grid Surges, Upgraded Replacement for Siemens FS140, Includes Wiring & Locknut

The FSPD140 Level 2 Whole House Surge Protection Device is designed to protect homes and buildings from surge damage, with a rated surge current capacity of 140,000 Amps, offering high-level protection for modern electrical systems. Over half of household surges are internal surges, which occur daily, typically when devices with motors are turned on or off, transferring power to or from other appliances. Surges can also happen when power is restored after an outage. Lightning-induced surges can cause instant damage. Using this device ensures that your appliances, electronics, and other equipment are fully protected from potential surge-related damage.

• Surge Current Capacity - The FSPD140 offers a significant surge protection capacity of 140,000 Amps, making it ideal for areas with frequent and severe storms. As a Type 2 SPD, it provides 140kA of surge current protection per phase
• Multi-Layer Protection - Built-in MOVs instantly detect voltage spikes and absorb excess energy, preventing it from reaching sensitive electronics and appliances. When voltage exceeds normal operating levels, the MOVs switch from a high-resistance state to a low-resistance state, safely redirecting excess current to the ground. Segmented MOVs ensure higher energy absorption capacity, allowing the surge protector to withstand multiple surge events over time
• Modes of Protection - Surge protection is provided for key electrical system pairs: L-N (Line to Neutral), L-G (Line to Ground), and N-G (Neutral to Ground)
• Easy Installation and Effectiveness - Surge protective devices (SPDs) are economical and easy to install next to any brand of load center, providing whole-home surge protection. They offer the best protection against both externally and internally generated surges when installed as close to the home's electrical panel as possible
• 3-Stage Protection - This device features a clear, audible alert system that activates when the protection status changes. The protection status LEDs extinguish, an audible alarm sounds, and a red service light flashes, indicating that the device is no longer providing protection
