Gila Dry Bag

This just in: The Gila is now available in a drop bar version! The drop bar version is a bit shorter and has a single rolltop on only one side, with compression-style buckles that clip across the bag so the ends are flat and leave maximum space for your hands to ride on the hoods or in the drops.

The Gila Dry Bag is the perfect companion to your Blue Ridge or Canelo Handlebar Harness (or any other handlebar harness for that matter). It's perfect for carrying lightweight items - stuff your sleeping bag, tent, or bag of cotton candy in there for your next bikepacking trip!

The Gila is made from Ecopak or Xpac, with seam-taped construction. In our testing they have proven waterproof against rain, but they are not designed to protect against submersion*.

The Gila dry bag comes in two styles (drop bar and flat bar) and three diameters - Small, Medium and Large. The Large is not recommended for most bikes with suspension forks - unless you have a massive head tube, it'll probably hit your tire on compression.

*We actually did test the Gila in submersion on a canyoneering trip and it did ok - with minor leaking at the rolltop closures because they don't have a sealing strip like a river dry bag. But we still recommend against using the Gila for a river trip, it wasn't designed for that!

Behind the Name

All of our bags are named after sections of the Arizona Trail, which runs within a mile of our workshop in Flagstaff.

The Gila River Canyons passage of the AZT consists of winding singletrack that follows the Gila River, passing through lush riparian areas and thick saguaro forests.
