At the heart of its voice are Petrucci’s signature DiMarzio LiquiFire and Crunch Lab pickups, engineered to deliver articulate leads, tight low-string rhythm work and nuanced clarity through both clean and high-gain settings. Combined with a modern tremolo system and push/push 12dB boost, the MAJ270 Majesty 7 DiMarzio puts Petrucci’s groundbreaking flagship design within reach of working players seeking uncompromising performance.

Nyatoh Body With Flamed Maple Veneer for Power and Definition

The MAJ270 Majesty 7 DiMarzio features a resonant nyatoh body that delivers warmth, punch and a strong midrange—ideal for keeping extended-range riffs clear and present. The flamed maple veneer top adds both visual sophistication and a touch of high-end sparkle, helping long-scale low notes maintain articulation without muddying up the mix. Its sculpted Majesty contours enhance comfort and ergonomics, allowing the guitar to rest naturally against the body whether sitting or standing. This thoughtful combination of tonewoods and design elements ensures that players get both rich harmonic complexity and a balanced, stage-ready aesthetic.

Three-Piece Nyatoh Neck and Ebony Fingerboard for Speed and Accuracy

The 3-piece nyatoh set neck provides rock-solid stability—crucial for managing the added tension of a seven-string setup—while maintaining impressive sustain and resonance. Topped with an ebony fingerboard, the neck offers a fast, responsive feel with crisp attack and enhanced clarity across the upper register. The 24 medium-jumbo stainless-steel frets are exceptionally durable and provide smooth, consistent bending and tapping response. Combined with Petrucci’s comfortable Majesty profile, the overall feel is effortless, fast and confidence-inspiring, even during complex, high-speed passages or extended-range chord work.

DiMarzio LiquiFire and Crunch Lab Pickups for Extended-Range Precision

Engineered in collaboration with John Petrucci, the DiMarzio LiquiFire neck pickup delivers smooth, fluid lead tones with outstanding clarity—perfect for expressive solos and articulate chord voicings in any position. The Crunch Lab bridge pickup complements it with a focused midrange, tight lows and an open, harmonically rich top end that keeps high-gain riffing detailed and controlled. Whether you’re dialing in aggressive rhythm tones, precise staccato passages or clean, complex harmonies, this pickup pair ensures every note maintains definition across all seven strings. With the push/push 12dB boost, players can instantly tap into extra presence and output for leads or dynamic transitions.

Modern Tremolo System and Locking Hardware for Unshakable Stability

The MAJ270 Majesty 7 DiMarzio comes equipped with a modern tremolo bridge designed for expressive pitch control without sacrificing tuning integrity. Combined with locking tuners, the dual-action truss rod and a meticulously designed set-in neck joint, the instrument stays stable through aggressive tremolo work, heavy palm muting and the increased tension of low-string riffing. Custom JP inlays and premium hardware complete the look, reinforcing the instrument’s professional pedigree while providing the reliability required for demanding performances and long touring schedules.

A Feature-Rich, Accessible Take on Petrucci’s 7-String Vision

The Sterling by Music Man MAJ270 Majesty 7 DiMarzio delivers the unmistakable feel, tone and innovation of John Petrucci’s signature design in a form that’s attainable for a wide range of players.
